Celtics Topples Jazz, 114-103
The Boston Celtics defeated the Utah Jazz, 114-103, at Vivint Smart Home Arena on Wednesday night.

The Celtics (41-17) came into the contest with a disadvantage beyond just that of having to play the Jazz (36-23) on the road. Boston was also once again missing Kemba Walker (knee), which made the 23-15 first-quarter lead they established all the more impressive. The second quarter was a polar opposite of the opening period, however, with the two teams combining for 66 points and Utah erasing all but two points from its deficit. Following hotly contested third quarter, the home squad got as close as within eight points with 6:46 remaining, but a 14-8 run by Boston helped them gain enough separation for a double-digit road win.

Jayson Tatum led the way for the Celtics with a 33-point, 11-rebound double-double that also included three assists. Jaylen Brown provided 20 points, six boards, two assists and one block. Marcus Smart registered 17 points, nine assists, three rebounds, three steals and one block. Daniel Theis delivered 16 points, seven boards, one assist and one steal. Gordon Hayward managed 12 points, five rebounds and two assists.

Donovan Mitchell paced the Jazz with 37 points, supplementing them with five rebounds and five assists. Mike Conley compiled 15 points, four rebounds, three assists and one steal. Royce O'Neale totaled 14 points, four boards, one assist and three steals. Rudy Gobert tallied nine points, nine boards, three assists, two blocks and one steal. Jordan Clarkson matched Gobert's scoring and posted four rebounds.

The Celtics head back home for a Saturday night showdown with the Houston Rockets, while the Jazz are home versus the Washington Wizards on Friday night.
