Hornets Bounce Back, Secure Win Over Knicks
The Charlotte Hornets defeated the New York Knicks, 107-101, at Spectrum Center on Wednesday evening.

The Hornets (20-38) finally reached the 20-win mark with a hard-worked victory over another struggling team, the Knicks (17-41), in front of a 13,152 crowd at Spectrum Center. The Hornets were coming off one of their worst performances of the season Tuesday when they lost by a 39-point margin against the Indiana Pacers, but they put that loss in the rear view and controlled most of the game against the Knicks with relative ease. Charlotte quickly jumped to a 30-27 lead following the first quarter, and they extended the lead with a 26-19 second quarter that gave the Hornets a 10-point lead by half time. The Knicks closed the gap in the second half, however, playing out a 29-29 third quarter and winning the final 12-minute period by four points (26-22). That wasn't enough, though. The Hornets closed the game out effectively and secured a solid win that should boost their morale as the season heads into its final weeks of the regular season.

Terry Rozier led the way for the Hornets with 26 points and four assists, and his backcourt partner, Devonte' Graham, chipped in with 21 points and five dimes despite shooting 7-18 from the field. P.J. Washington and Bismack Biyombo each had 12 points, but the rookie did a good job to fill out the stat sheet since he added five rebounds, three assists and two steals. Miles Bridges notched 10 points, three rebounds and two assists.

Julius Randle led the way for the Knicks with 18 points and nine rebounds, while Taj Gibson chipped in with 10 points. Bobby Portis had 17 points and Allonzo Tried had 15 points as substitutes, but Mitchell Robinson stole the attention with an impressive effort off the bench. The big man contributed 12 points, 16 rebounds and three blocks.
