Hawks Outlast Trail Blazers, 129-117
The Atlanta Hawks defeated the Portland Trail Blazers, 129-117, at State Farm Arena on Saturday night.

The Trail Blazers (26-35) were faced with having to play another game without Damian Lillard (groin), but they still managed to get off to a fast start in the form of a 28-23 first-quarter lead. The Hawks (19-43) then came to life, outscoring Portland by an 84-62 margin during the second and third periods to take a 17-point advantage into the fourth. That proved to be more than enough cushion for the double-digit home win, one in which Atlanta shot 54.1 percent, including 42.9 percent from three-point range.

CJ McCollum led the Trail Blazers with 35 points, complementing them with five rebounds, five assists and two steals. Hassan Whiteside generated a 21-point, 13-rebound double-double that also included one assist, three blocks and one steal. Gary Trent, Jr. poured in 15 points. Carmelo Anthony provided 12 points, six boards and two assists. Trevor Ariza and Anfernee Simons posted matching 10-point tallies, with Ariza also posting four boards, two assists and three steals.

Trae Young paced the Hawks with a 25-point, 15-assist double-double that also included four rebounds. John Collins supplied 24 points, 10 rebounds, four assists, two blocks and one steal. De'Andre Hunter registered 22 points, four rebounds and one block. Kevin Huerter furnished 19 points, eight assists, four rebounds, three steals and one block. Treveon Graham and Bruno Fernando pitched in 12 and 11 points, respectively, while also pulling in two rebounds apiece.

The Trail Blazers remain on the road and next visit the Orlando Magic on Monday night, while the Hawks remain home and tangle with the Memphis Grizzlies on Monday night.
