Mavericks Defeat Pelicans in OT, 127-123
The Dallas Mavericks defeated the visiting New Orleans Pelicans in overtime, 127-123, at American Airlines Center on Wednesday.

All four quarters in this game were decided by two points or fewer, as it took an overtime to decide a winner. That was the only session decided by more than two points, with Dallas outscoring New Orleans in the OT, 15-11. There were 18 ties and 13 lead changes in total, with neither team leading by more than 11 points. Dallas ended up shooting 46 percent from the field and 44 percent from three-point range while holding New Orleans to 44 percent from the field and 37 percent from three-point range. In addition, the Mavericks out-blocked the Pelicans, 13-4 while outscoring their bench, 38-21.

The Pelicans (26-36) were led by Brandon Ingram, who tallied 27 points, five rebounds and four assists, Lonzo Ball collected 25 points, 11 rebounds, six assists and two steals. Zion Williamson amassed 21 points, six rebounds and three assists while Jrue Holiday accrued 19 points, six rebounds and six assists. Derrick Favors also had 10 points and 14 boards.

The Mavericks (38-25) were led by Kristaps Porzingis, who totaled 34 points, 12 rebounds, three assists and five blocks. Luka Doncic tallied 30 points, 17 rebounds and 10 assists. Tim Hardaway Jr generated 18 points and four assists while Seth Curry led the bench with 21 points, three rebounds and four assists.

Both teams return to action on Friday against playoff teams, with Dallas remaining home to face the Memphis Grizzlies and New Orleans returning home to play the Miami Heat.
