Trail Blazers Defeat Wizards, 125-104
The Portland Trail Blazers defeated the visiting Washington Wizards, 125-104, at Mode Center on Wednesday.

Portland won each of the first three quarters by at least four points apiece, carrying an 11-point lead into the half and a 21-point lead into the fourth quarter. In fact, that allowed them to hold a double-digit lead for the final 20 minutes of action. The Trail Blazers ended up shooting 52 percent from the field and 42 percent from three-point range while holding the Wizards to 39 percent from the field and 31 percent from long range. In addition, Portland won the defensive rebounding battle, 40-30, while out-blocking Washington, 11-4.

The Wizards (22-39) were led by Bradley Beal, who tallied 29 points, six rebounds and six assists. Davis Bertans led the bench with 21 points, four rebounds and three assists. Rui Hachimura amassed 11 points, four rebounds and four assists. Troy Brown Jr provided nine points, six rebounds and four assists off the bench as well.

The Trail Blazers (28-35) were led by Carmelo Anthony, who totaled 25 points, five rebounds and two steals. Hassan Whiteside collected 24 points, 16 rebounds, two assists and four blocks. Damian Lillard made his return from injury to provide 22 points, four rebounds and five assists while C.J. McCollum generated 22 points, six rebounds and six assists.

Both teams return to action on Friday against weak competition, with Washington returning home to face the Atlanta Hawks and Portland traveling to face the Phoenix Suns.
