LeBron Leads Lakers To First Win
The Los Angeles Lakers defeated the visiting Utah Jazz, 95-86, at Staples Center on Friday evening.

The Lakers got out to a good start with a 24-17 lead after one quarter. They pushed their lead to 10 early in the second but the Jazz managed to trim the deficit to six by halftime. However, the Lakers came out on fire in the third and dropped 31 points while holding the Jazz to just 18, to take a 19-point lead into the final frame. The Jazz kept fighting in the fourth but could never really get into striking distance, as the Lakers held on for their first win of the season.

LeBron James led the Lakers with 32 points, 10 assists, seven rebounds and a steal, in 30 minutes of action, while Anthony Davis followed up with 21 points, seven rebounds, five blocks, two steals and two assists. The only other player to score in double figures for L.A. was Troy Daniels, who finished with 15 points. The Lakers shot 40 percent from the field, including 8-of-26 from long range. They grabbed 11 offensive rebounds and scored 15 second-chance points. The Lakers also forced 22 turnovers and tallied 14 steals.

Meanwhile, Donovan Mitchell led the Jazz with 24 points, five rebounds, three assists and three steals. Three other players scored in double digits for Utah, highlighted by Mike Conley, with 13 points on 3-of-11 shooting. The Jazz shot 41 percent from the field, including 8-of-25 from long range and hit an impressive 20-of-21 free throws.

The Jazz (1-1) will look to bounce back as they play host to the Kings on Saturday. The Lakers (1-1) play host to the Hornets on Sunday.
