Trail Blazers Defeat Kings, 122-112
The Portland Trail Blazers defeated the host Sacramento Kings, 122-112, at Golden 1 Center on Friday.

While there were eight ties and 10 lead changes in the first 25 minutes, Portland took control in the second half. In fact, the Trail Blazers outscored the Kings, 37-27, in the third quarter and the Kings could never get the game within five points in the fourth. Portland ended up out-rebounding Sacramento on the defensive end, 35-30 while out-assisting them, 23-17. The shooting disparity was the clear difference though, with the Trail Blazers shooting 54 percent from the field while holding the Kings to 43 percent.

The Trail Blazers (1-1) were led by Damian Lillard, finishing with 35 points, five rebounds, five assists and three steals on 12-of-20 from the field. Hassan Whiteside went 9-of-10 from the field to amass 22 points, nine rebounds and three assists. C.J. McCollum totaled 19 points, two rebounds and three assists while Anfernee Simons led the bench with 15 points.

The Kings (0-2) were led by De'Aaron Fox, accruing 28 points, six rebounds and five assists. Buddy Hield generated 21 points and five boards. Harrison Barnes collected 13 points and five boards while Bogdan Bogdanovic led the bench with 16 points, three assists and three steals. Richaun Holmes also provided 10 points and six rebounds off the bench.

Sacramento has a quick turnaround, as they have to travel tonight to play the Utah Jazz on Saturday. As for Portland, they return to action on Sunday against the Dallas Mavericks on the road
