Kyrie Helps Nets Close Out First Win
The Brooklyn Nets defeated the visiting New York Knicks, 113-109, at Barclays Center on Friday evening.

The Nets got out to a great start at home with a 32-23 lead after one quarter. They kept the pressure on in the second and pushed their lead to 64-51 by halftime. The Knicks were not done tough, as they came out strong in the third and outscored the Nets 32-30 in the quarter. The Knicks kept their focus through the fourth and pressed the Nets. They outscored the hosts by seven points in the quarter and held a three-point lead with 1:15 to go. However, Kyrie Irving scored five straight point to put the Nets ahead and secure their first win of the season.

Irving led the Nets with 26 points, five assists, three steals and two rebounds, in 31minutes. Four other players scored in double digits for the Nets, including Spencer Dinwiddie, who tallied 20 points off the bench. The Nets shot 47 percent from the field, including 16-of-37 from long range. The Nets forced 22 turnovers and scored 26 points off turnovers, but gave up 26 turnovers of their own.

Meanwhile, Alonzo Trier was the high-point man for the Knicks, with 22 points on 6-of-7 shooting, including 3-of-4 from deep, in 23 minutes off the bench. Kevin Knox shot 4-of-4 from deep on his way to 16 points in 29 minutes off the bench. The Knicks shot 46 percent from the field, including 17-of-25 from long range, but shot 16-of-28 from the foul line. They tallied 14 steals and 15 second chance points.

The Knicks (0-2) will look to get their first win of the season as they play host to the Celtics on Saturday. The Nets (1-1) take on the Grizzlies in Memphis on Sunday.
