Hornets End Losing Streak, Defeat Pistons
The Charlotte Hornets defeated the Detroit Pistons, 87-76, at Little Caesars Arena on Monday night.

The Hornets (17-36) and the Pistons (19-37) tangled in what turned out to be a low-scoring affair, but Charlotte came out on top after a strong first quarter and never looked back. The Hornets quickly grabbed a 21-11 lead -- that was Detroit's second-lowest output in a single quarter -- and they dominated the rest of the way. The second quarter finished 26-26, and the Pistons won the third quarter by 22-19 so they still had a chance to make a comeback in the final quarter. Charlotte, however, closed the deal in the final 12 minutes with a 21-17 score and sealed the win. The Hornets won despite shooting 37.5 percent from the field and 25.0 percent from three-point range. With the win, Charlotte moved to 9-19 on the road while the Pistons fell to 11-19 at home.

Miles Bridges led the way for the Hornets with 18 points and seven rebounds, while Devonte Graham chipped in with 14 points, 11 assists and seven boards. Terry Rozier ended with 11 points and seven rebounds. Malik Monk delivered a strong performance off the bench with 17 points while adding three rebounds and three steals. Cody Zeller had six points, but he contributed 10 boards.

Thon Maker led the way for Detroit with 12 points and also added a career-high 12 boards. Bruce Brown also contributed a double-double after notching 10 points and 12 rebounds, but he also added five assists. Reggie Jackson chipped in with eight points while shooting 2-11 from the field. Christian Wood had 10 points and grabbed eight boards. Markieff Morris contributed 10 points off the bench.
