Nuggets Host Lakers on Wednesday
The Denver Nuggets play host to the Los Angeles Lakers at Pepsi Center on Wednesday.

The Lakers (40-12) got a victory over the Phoenix Suns on Monday in their most recent outing, giving them a 16-5 record over their last 21 games. That's pretty much the team that we've seen all season long, with the Lakers sitting atop the Western Conference. What makes them so scary is the fact that they're good at everything. This is actually one of only two teams who sit Top-8 in points scored, points allowed, rebounds and assists. The other team is the Milwaukee Bucks and having anything in common with them is quite the compliment at this point. People believe that those two teams are on a crash course to face one another in a potential Finals preview but the Lakers have a lot of work to get to that point.

The Nuggets (38-16) picked up a comeback win against the San Antonio Spurs in their most recent game, extending one of their best stretches of the season. In fact, Denver comes into this matchup winning 14 of their last 19 games in total. They've actually overcome numerous double-digit deficits in that span and it says a lot about the growth of this team. One dynamic that people have been overlooking is that of Paul Millsap. The former All-Star has missed a ton of time this season because of some leg injuries but his return in the last two games has been pivotal. He gives this team a much-needed post presence off the bench and his veteran presence can't be overlooked for such a young and talented team.

These teams have played twice this season, with the road team prevailing in both outings. Prior to that, Denver has won 18 of their last 24 games over Los Angeles in total.
