Jazz Host Heat on Wednesday
The Miami Heat travel to Salt Lake City to face the Utah Jazz at Vivint Smart Home Arena on Wednesday.

The Heat (35-18) come into this matchup in the midst of a small slump, losing three of their last four games. That snapped a stretch in which Miami won seven of its previous 10 games though and that prior run is more indicative of the club we've become accustomed to. It's easy to see why they've been struggling recently when looking at all of the roster moves. Not only have they had a bunch of injuries, Miami was also one of the most active teams at the trade deadline. That's evident when you see that Dion Waiters and Justise Winslow were traded away while Jae Crowder and Andre Iguodala were brought in. That doesn't even take into consideration that players like Jimmy Butler, Kendrick Nunn, Meyers Leonard and Tyler Herro have all missed games recently, making rhythm and rotations a hard thing to figure out. The good news is that Eric Spoelstra is one of the best conductors in the NBA and he'll figure out how to put these puzzle pieces together to make this one of the most dangerous teams in the east.

The Jazz (35-18) have established themselves as the cardiac kids, winning each of their last three games by narrow margins. In fact, they've had two of those games decided at the buzzer while grabbing a four-point victory over the Dallas Mavericks in their most recent game on Monday. That three-game winning streak actually snapped a four-game losing skid and it's an extremely encouraging sign to see this team grabbing some wins headed into the All-Star break. If you take out that four-game skid, Utah has only lost two games since December 9. That tells you just how scary this team has been recently and it's even more frightening that Mike Conley has returned to his Memphis form since being reinserted into the starting-five last week.

These teams played once this season, with Miami prevailing, 107-104, on December 23. That gives the Heat five victories in their last six matchups with the Jazz.
