Nets Clip Celtics, 104-93
The Brooklyn Nets defeated the Boston Celtics, 104-93, at Barclays Center in Game 1 of their Eastern Conference quarterfinal-round series. The Nets lead the series, 1-0.

The host Nets (1-0) were solid home favorites going in, but there was still at least an element of doubt as to how their Big Three would perform in playoff conditions after playing only eight games together during the regular season. The relatively scarce amount of mutual on-court time may have had a part to play in a sluggish first half, which culminated with the Celtics (0-1) holding a 53-47 lead. However, that seemed to be all Brooklyn's stars needed to work out the kinks, as they eradicated their deficit during the third quarter and built a a five-point advantage going into the final period. The hosts kept their foot on the gas over the final 12 minutes as well, holding Boston to 20 points for the second straight quarter to finish with an 11-point margin of victory.

Jayson Tatum led the Celtics with 22 points, complementing them with five assists, three rebounds, one steal and one block. Marcus Smart followed with 17 points, five assists and three rebounds. Kemba Walker delivered 15 points, two assists and one rebound. Robert Williams tallied 11 points, nine boards, nine blocks, one assist and one steal. Evan Fournier supplied 10 points, six boards, two assists and two steals.

Kevin Durant paced the Nets with a 32-point, 12-rebound double-double that also included one assist, one steal and one block. Kyrie Irving totaled 29 points, six boards, one assist and one block. James Harden managed 21 points, nine rebounds, eight assists, four steals and one block. Joe Harris registered 10 points and three rebounds.

The two teams reconvene for Game 2 at Barclays Center on Tuesday night.
