Warriors Host Grizzlies in Play-In Game
The Golden State Warriors play host to the Memphis Grizzlies at Chase Center on Friday.

The Grizzlies had the long road to reach the postseason but won their first elimination game on Wednesday. It was a close-fought battle with the San Antonio Spurs, winning 100-96. Jonas Valanciunas was spectacular in that game, collecting 23 points, 23 rebounds, and three blocks. That's the stud they've seen all year, and it's no surprise when you see that he was a Top-5 rebounder in the NBA. Dillon Brooks was huge as well, tallying 24 points, seven rebounds, three assists, and two steals. The most important thing he did was hold DeMar DeRozan to 5-of-21 from the field, which was the difference in that four-point game. Beating the Spurs is a solid accomplishment, but all hands will have to be on deck to grab a win here against a potent Warriors team in yet another elimination game.

The Warriors suffered a devastating loss to the Los Angeles Lakers on Wednesday, losing 103-100. Golden State actually held the lead for the first three quarters of that game, but the Lakers rode a 61-45 second half to their comeback win. Stephen Curry left it all on the line in that loss, dropping 37 points. They also got nine rebounds, eight assists, three steals, and three blocks from Draymond Green but couldn't hold off a struggling Lakers team. The good news is that they played well in that opening play-in game and entered that loss winning their previous six games. That good form is all you can ask for, and they should be in good shape here in their home building.

These teams played three times during the regular season, with Golden State winning two of three. One of those was the finale to decide the eight-seed, and the Warriors won that game, 113-101
