Grizzlies Topple Warriors, in OT, 117-112
The Memphis Grizzlies defeated the Golden State Warriors in overtime, 117-112, at Chase Center on Friday night in a Western Conference play-in game. Memphis moves on to play the No.1-seeded Utah Jazz in a quarterfinal-round matchup.

The Warriors (0-2 in play-in tournament) checked into the contest with a certain degree of confidence after having taken the defending champion Lakers to the limit at Staples Center on Wednesday night before dropping a narrow decision. However, it was the Grizzlies (2-0 in play-in tournament) demonstrated they were prepared for whatever was coming their way early, opening up a 13-point lead by halftime courtesy of a dominant second quarter. With their season on the line, Golden State came out a different team after halftime and made an eight-point dent in their deficit during a third period they prevailed in by a 24-16 margin. That set up a thrilling final period in which the home squad made repeated comebacks and even had a chance to win the game in regulation before Draymond Green missed a running floater at the buzzer. Overtime saw more of the same for the majority of five-minute period, but Ja Morant and Desmond Bane provided the final four points for the visitors that clinched the narrow upset.

Morant led the way for the Grizzlies with 35 points, adding six rebounds, six assists and four steals. Dillon Brooks furnished 14 points, three assists, two rebounds and two steals. Grayson Allen totaled 12 points, four rebounds, one assist, four steals and one block. Xavier Tillman supplied 11 points, seven rebounds, one assist, three steals and one block. Bane and Jaren Jackson generated matching 10-point tallies. Kyle Anderson and Jonas Valanciunas managed matching nine-point contributions while pulling down 10 and 12 rebounds, respectively.

Stephen Curry paced the Warriors with 39 points, supplementing them with five assists, four rebounds and three steals. Andrew Wiggins posted a 22-point, 10-rebound double-double that included two assists and two blocks. Jordan Poole netted 19 points, four assists, three rebounds and one block. Draymond Green generated an 11-point, 16-rebound, 10-assist triple-double that also included one steal and one block. Kent Bazemore delivered 10 points, four rebounds, two assists, two steals and one block.

The Grizzlies move on to play the Jazz in a Western Conference quarterfinal-round series that begins Sunday night in Utah.
