Suns Defeat Pelicans in OT, 139-132
The Phoenix Suns defeated the host New Orleans Pelicans in overtime, 139-132, at Smoothie King Center on Thursday.

While Phoenix did blow a 16-point lead heading into the fourth quarter, they were able to prevail in overtime. In fact, they started the extra session on a 10-4 run and ended up outscoring the Pelicans, 14-7, in total. Despite the fact that the Suns led by 20 late in the third quarter, there were six ties and seven lead changes in total. The key for the Suns was their rebounding, winning that battle, 51-40. In addition, Phoenix recorded 16 steals while winning the turnover differential, 23-18. In addition, the Suns shot 93 percent from the free-throw line on 27 attempts while the Pelicans hit just 77 percent on 35 attempts.

The Suns (10-11) were led by Devin Booker, who tallied 44 points, eight rebounds, nine assists and two steals. Frank Kaminsky amassed 20 points, six rebounds and two steals. Kelly Oubre Jr accrued 14 points, 15 rebounds, three steals and four blocks while Ricky Rubio generated 13 points, six rebounds, 15 assists and four steals.

The Pelicans (6-16) were led by J.J. Redick, who totaled 26 points, four rebounds and two assists. Jrue Holiday collected 23 points, seven rebounds, six assists and five steals. Brandon Ingram finished with 21 points, six rebounds and four assists while Lonzo Ball accumulated 20 points, six rebounds, 11 assists, three steals and two blocks.

Both teams return to action on Saturday, with New Orleans traveling to face the Dallas Mavericks and Phoenix playing the Houston Rockets on the road as well.
