Lakers Hang On In New York
The Los Angeles Lakers defeated the host New York Knicks, 100-92, at Madison Square Garden on Wednesday evening.

The Knicks came out strong at home and put up a competitive first quarter, although the Lakers managed to grab a three-point lead, heading into the second. The Knicks kept up the fight in the second and rallied to tie the game at 48, by halftime. The Lakers came out stronger in the third and built a seven-point lead mid way through the quarter, before the Knicks trimmed it to a six-point game, heading into the final frame. The Lakers pushed their lead to 13, early in the fourth, and they kept their focus the rest of the way to hold on for their 19th road win.

Anthony Davis led the Lakers with 28 points, five rebounds, five assists, two blocks and a steal, in 30 minutes. LeBron James added 21 points, six rebounds, five assists and five steals, while Kentavious Caldwell-Pope chipped in 13 points, four rebounds and two assists, off the bench. The Lakers shot 44 percent from the field, including 9-of-27 from long range.

Meanwhile, Marcus Morris Sr. led the Knicks with 20 points on 7-of-16 shooting and six rebounds, in 37 minutes. Damyean Dotson chipped in 17 points, off the bench, while Julius Randle tallied 16 points, eight rebounds, six assists and a steal. The Knicks shot 41 percent from the field, including 11-of-34 from deep.

The Knicks (12-33) will look to bounce back as they play host to the Raptors on Friday. The Lakers (35-9) take on the Nets in Brooklyn on Thursday.
