Tipsarevic will say goodbye to tennis for good after his Serbian team was unable to defeat the Russians in the quarterfinals of the Davis Cup on Friday morning, Christopher Clarey of The New York Times reports.

Tipsarevic will officially retire from the professional game of tennis after the Serbian team was unable to take down the Russians at the Davis Cup in Madrid. Tipsarevic will retire at the age of 35 and had a nice career filled with four ATP World Tour titles and one ATP doubles title while also reaching a career-best No. 8 World ranking back in April of 2012. Tipsarevic has served as a role model and a mentor for guys like Novak Djokovic and will be greatly missed in the tennis community.
