Wins GTD Honors at Road America
IMSA
August 2, 2020
Bell overcame a late-race charge by Mario Farnbacher to score AIM Vasser Sullivan's third consecutive victory in GT Daytona at Road America Sunday, sportscar365.com reports.
ANALYSIS
The GT Daytona class would see some frantic racing action after the long rain delay would shake up the flow of the race. The AIM Vasser Sullivan Lexus teams were running away during the dry. The restart would see Mario Farnbacher issue a strong challenge for the win in his MSR Acura. He would get around Bell for the lead in the Canada corner, but would spin off course in the kink just seconds later. Bell would retake the lead and cruise through the rain to the checkered flag. It was Bell's first win of the season, and third-career IMSA WeatherTech victory.
