Almeida will take on Timothy Cuamba in a lightweight bout at UFC Vegas 93 on June 15, Marcel Dorff of Eurosport.nl reports.
ANALYSIS
Almeida will look to snap his losing streak in the UFC at two. His most recent fight was a loss to Andre Fill in December of 2023, in which he was quickly bested in the first round. He's now 1-2 in the UFC, and will look to even his record against Cuamba, who is coming off his first professional loss in three years. That loss, however, was his first fight in the UFC.

Blasted by Andre Fili
LightweightUFC
December 16, 2023
Almeida lost to Andre Fili via TKO (punches) at 3:32 of Round 1 at UFC 296 on Saturday in Las Vegas.
ANALYSIS
As Joe Rogan correctly pointed out multiple times on the broadcast, Almeida looks stiff and uncomfortable inside the Octagon. He struggles to get his head off the center line and offers little in terms of in-fight adjustments. That led to him getting clipped by a massive right hand from Fili before getting finished off with some follow-up shots. The Brazilian is now 1-2 in his first three UFC bouts, with both losses coming via stoppage, in addition to a unanimous decision defeat on Dana White's Contender Series. Almeida will probably be fighting for his job his next time out.

Almeida withdrew from his fight against William Gomis, MMAJunkie.com reports.
ANALYSIS
After losing to Pat Sabatini at UFC on ESPN 47, Almeida looked to compete immediately by booking a fight with Gomis less than one month after his loss. Instead, he will take a much-needed respite recovering from an undisclosed injury.
Will take on William Gomis

July 7, 2023
Marcel Dorff of Eurosport.nlAlmeida is set to take on William Gomis in a featherweight fight at a UFC event on September 2, Marcel Dorff of Eurosport.nl reports.
ANALYSIS
Almeida is looking to get back into the win column after losing his previous fight to Pat Sabatini. Gomis stands one-inch taller than Almeida while also sporting a two-inch reach advantage. Almeida lands significant strikes at a much higher rate than Gomis and will look to take advantage during the fight.
Not competitive in Vegas
LightweightUFC
June 17, 2023
Almeida lost to Pat Sabatini via submission (arm-triangle choke) at 1:48 of Round 2 at UFC on ESPN 47 on Saturday in Las Vegas.
ANALYSIS
You can't help but feel for Almeida. Entering as a somewhat modest +165 underdog, you'll be hard pressed to find a recent UFC bout in which a fighter was less competitive than Lucas was here. He gave up an immediate takedown to Sabatini and spent 4:50 of the opening five minutes being controlled on the mat. He gave up another takedown right off the hop to begin Round 2 and was tapping out shortly thereafter. Almeida absorbed a ton of damage and didn't generate any offense of his own, being credited with just three total strikes landed. The rare fighter to receive a UFC opportunity despite losing on Dana White's Contender Series, Almeida knocked out Mike Trizano in his company debut a little over a year ago.
