Poised to face Calvillo
May 23, 2020
Eye (elbow) is expected to face Cynthia Calvillo in a flyweight fight as the main event for a June 13 card at a yet-to-be-determined location, Brett Okamoto of ESPN reports.
Eye has been recovering from February surgery to address a left elbow issue, but the fact that the UFC is targeting her for the June 13 main event suggests she's on track to be fully healthy by mid-June. The 33-year-old last fought Viviane Araujo back on Dec. 14, winning in a unanimous decision to push her MMA record to 15-7-0. She'll enter this matchup against Calvillo as a slight betting underdog of (+100).

Nearly recovered from elbow surgery
March 23, 2020
Eye is expected to resume training within the next few weeks after undergoing surgery in early February to address a left elbow injury, Mike Bohn of USA Today reports.
Eye didn't receive any medical suspension from the promotion following her unanimous-decision victory over Viviane Araujo at UFC 245 on Dec. 14, but she decided to head in for surgery a couple months after the fight to tend to an elbow issue that she said had been lingering for about three years. The 33-year-old will likely be ready to return to the Octagon at some point during the summer.
Wins after missing weight Friday
December 14, 2019
Eye defeated Viviane Araujo via unanimous decision (29-28, 29-28, 29-28) at UFC 245 on Saturday in Las Vegas.
Eye was quite pleased following Bruce Buffer's announcement of the decision, but the truth of the matter is that her strong effort means nothing because she missed weight by five pounds on Friday. As is the case in virtually all fights in which Eye is successful, this was an ugly, grinding brawl. Eye took advantage of a tiring Araujo by putting together combinations following a strong first round from the Brazilian. Eye's takedown defense was lousy early on but improved as the fight progressed because Araujo was too tired and began to telegraph her shots. Eye is fairly tough and has decent cardio, but she's a pure brawler and her stand-up defense is below-average. Of course, none of this means anything if she continues to miss weight.
Misses weight by five pounds
December 13, 2019
Eye weighed in at 131 pounds ahead of her scheduled UFC 245 bout against Viviane Araujo, Marc Raimondi of reports.
Eye was 3-1 since her return to flyweight in January 2018, losing only her most recent bout against Valentina Shevchenko in a bid for the title. With Araujo a relative newcomer, the fight was expected to be a bounce-back for the 33-year-old Eye, who misses weight for the first time in her career. It will still go on as planned, though Eye will have to forfeit 30 percent of her fight purse to Araujo.
Slated for UFC 245
August 12, 2019
Eye (undisclosed) will square off against Viviane Araujo at UFC 245 on Dec. 14, Guilherme Cruz of reports.
Eye received a six-month suspension in June after sustaining an undisclosed injury against Valentina Shevchenko at UFC 238, but she's apparently been cleared to return to the octagon. After falling short in her big for a title belt, Eye looks to bounce back against a relative newcomer in Araujo. Eye has landed and absorbed many fewer strikes than her opponent and Araujo has also successfully completed all five of her takedown attempts. However, Araujo hasn't faced an opponent at the current skill level of Eye, so it should be an interesting match.
Receives four-month suspension
June 17, 2019
Eye received a 120-day medical suspension after sustaining an unspecified injury in her loss to Valentina Shevchenko at UFC 238 on June 8, Steven Marrocco of reports.
Though the report doesn't detail the nature of Eye's health concern, she'll be subject to 90 days of no contact and will require a CT scan and a physician's clearance before the UFC lifts the ban. The 32-year-old dropped to 14-7 (1NC) after taking a second-round knockout loss to Shevchenko in the flyweight title fight.
