Falls out of the PFL tournament due to majority draw
WelterweightPFL
October 20, 2018
Umalatov went to a majority draw against Abus Magomedov (20-18, 19-19, 19-19) at PFL 10 on Saturday in Washington, D.C.
ANALYSIS
Umalatov had some moments in this fight, but he could never really land the takedown that he was looking for. Magomedov landed the better strikes on the feet, and he scored takedowns in both rounds. There was not a lot of action in this fight, but it was a relatively clear-cut draw with the first round going to Magomedov.

Struggles to get going against John Howard at PFL 3
WelterweightPFL
July 5, 2018
Umalatov lost to John Howard via submission (rear-naked choke) at 2:59 of round 2 at PFL 3 on Thursday in Washington, DC.
ANALYSIS
This was a tough showing for Umalatov. He really could not get on track, because Howard kept him guessing. When he tried to close the distance, Howard would clinch. When he tried to strike, Howard stayed out of range. After eating some hard strikes in the first round, Umalatov ended up on the bottom in the second. Howard took his back and finished via submission.
Gasan Umalatov: Another lousy performance in unanimous decision loss Saturday
WelterweightPFL
November 7, 2015
Umalatov lost to Viscardi Andrade via unanimous decision (27-30, 27-30, 28-29) at UFC Fight Night on Saturday in Sao Paulo.
ANALYSIS
Well, that's what you get for standing around and doing nothing. Outside of a brief flurry with about a minute left to go, Umalatov stood there and allowed Andrade to control the entire pace of the fight. It's not that Andrade was doing anything special, but more of Umalatov doing nothing at all. Now 1-3 in the UFC (including a loss to Cathal Pendred, who might be the worst fighter on the roster), Umalatov is in danger of getting cut.
