Fighting Zahabi in March
Basharat is scheduled to face Aiemann Zahabi in a bantamweight bout at the UFC's March 2 event in Saudi Arabia, Marcel Dorff of Eurosport.nl reports.
ANALYSIS
Basharat remains a perfect 14-0 for his MMA career after most recently drawing a no-contest against Victor Henry in October. The 28-year-old will certainly be tested by Zahabi, who comes into the bout riding a respectable three-fight win streak.

Fights to no-contest at UFC 294
Basharat and Victor Henry fought to a no-contest (accidental low blow) at 0:15 of Round 2 at UFC 294 on Saturday in Abu Dhabi.
ANALYSIS
Basharat looked strong in the early going of this fight, which is expected when you enter as roughly a -600 favorite. He fired off a kick early in Round 2 that appeared to catch Henry in the groin. It may not have landed flush, but Victor went crashing to the mat and never improved despite taking the full five minutes to try to recover. Considering how much pain he was in, this fight had zero chance of ever continuing. It's a tough break for Javid, who certainly had a far better than even chance of picking up his fourth straight win to begin his UFC run. It would be far from shocking to see the company book these two again.

ANALYSIS
Basharat will look to extend his undefeated streak to 15 wins against Henry. Both bantamweights have three UFC fights under their belt, all of them decisions (Basharat 3-0, Henry 2-1).

Remains perfect in UFC
Basharat defeated Mateus Mendonca via unanimous decision (30-27, 30-27, 29-28) at UFC Fight Night on Saturday in Las Vegas.
ANALYSIS
Although just 24 years of age (next week) and making his UFC debut, Mendonca was viewed by most as a legitimate threat to Basharat, and for the most part, that was the case. Ultimately, however, Javid's experience edge and all-around game won out. Basharat was content in sitting back and allowing his aggressive opponent to lead the dance. He countered Mendonca repeatedly, ultimately finishing with an 88-34 edge in total strikes landed. Both men connected on two takedowns. The 27-year-old London native has won each of his first three UFC bouts, all via unanimous decision. Keep an eye on Basharat as 2023 progresses.

Taking on Mendonca
Basharat will fight Mateus Mendonca in a bantamweight bout at the UFC's Jan. 14 event in Las Vegas, Marcel Dorff of Eurosport.nl reports.
ANALYSIS
Basharat defeated Tony Gravely via unanimous decision in September to move to 2-0 in the UFC, and he remains undefeated in his professional career. His strong start in the promotion should make him a solid favorite over Mendonca, who will be making his company debut.
