Epic comeback victory
LightweightUFC
October 21, 2023
Breeden defeated Anshul Jubli via KO (punches) at 3:00 of Round 3 at UFC 294 on Saturday in Abu Dhabi.
ANALYSIS
Breeden entered with three straight losses to begin his UFC run. He then missed weight by a whopping 3.5 pounds Friday morning. Then, he was non-competitive in the first two rounds against Jubli. Arguably no fighter in company history was heading for a release quicker than Breeden. So how did he respond? Well, he proceeded to stand in front of his opponent, taunting and yelling at him. After that, he started barking at him like a dog. As crazy as all this sounds, it worked. Jubli appeared frozen and had zero answers for the nonsense Breeden was throwing his way. As a result, the latter eventually scored a knockout win. While the finish was memorable, Breeden better get his act together in terms of cutting weight. He's still on thin ice.

Breeden's scheduled lightweight fight against Anshul Jubli will proceed as planned despite Breeden missing weight by 3.5 pounds Friday morning, Chatmatkar Sandhu of TNT Sports reports.
ANALYSIS
Earlier reports suggested that Breeden was still awaiting medical clearance, but the two participated in the ceremonial weigh-ins later in the day, so it appears as if everything is good to go. Breeden will presumably have to forfeit an undisclosed percentage of his fight purse in order for the bout to proceed as planned. He sits as roughly a (+220) betting underdog as of Friday afternoon.

October 20, 2023
Breeden weighed in at 159.5 pounds Friday morning, 3.5 pounds above the lightweight limit for a non-title fight, per the official UFC site.
ANALYSIS
It remains to be seen if the fight will proceed as planned, as Breeden has yet to be medically cleared for the matchup after the significant weight miss, per MMA Orbit. Should the scheduled bout remain in tact, Breeden will have to forfeit a percentage of his fight purse to Anshul Jubli, an undefeated debutante who was already listed as a (-270) betting favorite as of early Friday morning.

Breeden will take on Anshul Jubli in a lightweight matchup at UFC 294 on October 21, Marcel Dorff of Eurosport.nl reports.
ANALYSIS
Breeden was signed to the UFC despite losing his lone Contender Series appearance in 2020, and he has gone on to lose each of his first three fights, fighting once per year. Two of those loses were of the first-round knockout variety. Normally, a fighter in this situation would get handed his walking papers, but instead, the UFC will make him travel to Abu Dhabi to face an undefeated prospect.
Remains winless in UFC

Breeden lost to Terrance McKinney via TKO (punches) at 1:25 of Round 1 at UFC on ESPN 51 on Saturday in Las Vegas.
ANALYSIS
Every opponent that goes up against McKinney knows they will have to survive an early onslaught. If you can make it through, you have a pretty good chance of emerging victorious, but Breeden was overwhelmed by the surge, as evidenced by the 30-1 total strike count in McKinney's favor. It's hard to fault the stoppage of referee Chris Tognoni, as it was impossible to see things getting better for Breeden. The 34-year-old has now appeared three times in the UFC, losing each fight, including two via first-round knockout. There's an overwhelming likelihood the company will be moving on.
Receives new opponent

Breeden will fight Terrance McKinney at UFC Vegas 78 in August 12, Marcel Dorff of Eurosport.nl reports.
ANALYSIS
Breeden will get a new opponent less than 24 hours after Lando Vannata was forced to withdraw with an undisclosed injury. The 34 -year-old last fought in April of 2022 and has kicked off his UFC tenure with two consecutive losses. He'll look to turn things around against McKinney who will be entering the Octagon for his second time in a month.
