Out of UFC 296
Chikadze will no longer take on Josh Emmett at UFC 296 due to an undisclosed injury, MMAJunkie.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Chikadze's official injury is unknown, but it is severe enough to keep him from taking on Emmett. It is unclear if the latter will get a new opponent for the featherweight bout. Chikadze will now focus on getting his health up to par.

Emmett fight next
Chikadze will compete against Josh Emmett in a featherweight fight at UFC 296 in Paradise on Dec. 16, according to Aaron Bronsteter of TSN.ca.
ANALYSIS
Chikadze will have the opportunity to boost his ranking to top six in the UFC's featherweight division by defeating No. 6 Emmett. Chikadze's 2023 began uninspiringly, as he called out for a fight against former champion Max Holloway before sitting out more than half the year and getting Alex Caceres instead. However, Chikadze defeated Caceres and could go 2-0 in 2023 with a win over Emmett.

Wins in return from long layoff
Chikadze defeated Alex Caceres via unanimous decision (30-27, 30-27, 30-27) at UFC Fight Night on Saturday in Singapore.
ANALYSIS
Fighting for the first time in more than a year and a half, Chikadze looked good, not great, in his return to the Octagon. He was the better fighter, especially over the final ten minutes, but the striking numbers were eerily similar in a bout contested entirely on the feet. Giga closed with a 65-62 edge in total strikes landed. He connected on two more strikes than Caceres in Rounds 1 and 3, while his opponent had the edge by one in Round 2. Chikadze won seven in a row to begin his UFC run prior to his unanimous decision loss to Calvin Kattar in his latest bout, so it was nice to see him get back in the win column here.

Gets another fight
Chikadze will fight Alex Caceres in a featherweight bout at UFC Singapore on Aug. 26, according to Marcel Dorff of Eurosport.nl.
ANALYSIS
Following defeat at the hands of Calvin Kattar, Chikadze was expected to fight Sodiq Yusuff before withdrawing. The former tried initiating a bout with former UFC Featherweight Champion Max Holloway, but he ended up fighting Arnold Allen and has Chan Sung Jung next. So instead, Chikadze will defend his No. 8 featherweight rank against No. 15 Caceres, a longstanding veteran who is 7-1 across his last eight bouts.

Looking for another fight
Chikadze (undisclosed) recently called for a fight against former featherweight champion Max Holloway via his personal Twitter account.
ANALYSIS
It's been over a year since Chikadze suffered his first official UFC loss to Calvin Kattar, and while he was once scheduled for a bounce-back opportunity against Sodiq Yusuff, he was forced to withdraw from that matchup just 10 days before the scheduled event in September of 2022. While the nature of the injury was never disclosed, Chikadze had then been tied to a rumored fight against "The Korean Zombie" the following November that never materialized. After another few months of radio silence, Chikadze recently called out Max Holloway for a fight at UFC 286 on March 18 following the news that Arnold Allen would not be able to accept that opportunity due to a ribs injury. Despite Chikadze's highly-regarded potential, it's unclear if the UFC would be willing to give him a huge name like Holloway when he's coming off a loss. No fights currently appear to be booked for the No. 8-ranked featherweight contender, but it does seem like he's ready to get back in the Octagon in short order.
