Impressing in camp
Jarvis has stood out in camp for Carolina, NBC Sports reports.
ANALYSIS
The 2020 first-round pick is making a case to stick at the NHL level this season and has taken reps alongside Carolina's top players in camp, including Sebastian Aho and Andrei Svechnikov. There's no question Jarvis has the offensive ability to contribute in the NHL already, so whether he makes the roster will come down to his play without the puck. "They want me to focus defensively," Jarvis said. "They know I can play with the puck, and in the offensive zone, it's just more focused away from the puck and in the D zone I have a responsibility, so it's just learning that way."

2022 Fantasy Outlook
Carolina didn't plan on giving Jarvis a full-time role last season as a 19-year-old but the rookie played so well in training camp and throughout the year that he left them no choice. Jarvis finished the season with 17 goals and 40 points in 68 games. He added a half-dozen points with the man advantage. Jarvis is a candidate for a breakout season given his youth and the quality team he plays for, as long as he's fully healthy entering training camp. Jarvis suffered a concussion in Carolina's Game 7 loss to the Rangers in the second round of the playoffs and was still dealing with symptoms as of a few days later. If the health reports are fine, consider him a solid mid-to-late round pick.
