Expected back with Blackhawks
Chicago general manager Kyle Davidson was very happy with the performance this season of Kurashev, Ben Pope of the Chicago Sun-Times reports. "He had a really strong year... At the end of last year, it was, 'OK, we'll wait and see...' And now, to me, he's certainly a bonafide contributor at the NHL level."
ANALYSIS
Kurashev is an RFA, and he is expected to return to the Blackhawks next season. He had nine goals and 25 points in 70 games this season, but had his year ended Mar. 23 as the Blackhawks shut him down with a shoulder injury that won't require surgery.

Past Fantasy Outlooks

2020
Kurashev surprised many by playing in 54 games for the Blackhawks in the pandemic-shortened 2020-21 campaign, finishing the season with eight goals and 16 points. He was again in the lineup more often than not last campaign, although his production (six goals, 21 points) was once again marginal. Toss in the fact Kurashev posted a minus-16 rating and it's tough to rely on him from a fantasy perspective. Time is still on his side since Kurashev will be just 23 years old a handful of days after the upcoming season begins, but he remains a clear fade in most fantasy formats at the moment.
