2019 Fantasy Outlook
Gaudette tallied 12 points in 56 games last season, primarily featuring in a bottom-six role for Vancouver. The 22-year-old figures to stay in the same role for the 2019-20 season and if he stays healthy, Gaudette could wind up with 20-30 points in his sophomore campaign with the Canucks. If he struggles out of the gate, Gaudette could see some time in the minors next season, which would obviously be a big blow to his in-season fantasy value. For that reason, steer clear of Gaudette during draft night, but keep close tabs on the youngster throughout the early part of the season to see if he comes out of the gate out in year two of his professional career. According to coach Travis Green, Gaudette (undisclosed) is expected to be an option for Game 1 of the Canucks' first-round series, Brendan Batchelor of Sportsnet 650 reports.
ANALYSIS
Gaudette missed the final three games of Vancouver's qualifying-round series against the Wild, but he should be ready to rock once the first round gets underway. However, the Canucks won all three of the games Gaudette was unavailable for, so at this point it may take an injury or a poor performance for him to retake his spot in the lineup.

2018 Fantasy Outlook
After winning the Hobey Baker Award as the best collegiate player in 2018, Gaudette didn't look out of place jumping into the NHL right away even though he was held without a point in a five-game audition. The former Northeastern alum scored 30 goals and 60 points in his senior season and the Canucks see him as a potential second-line scoring center down the road, however, the 82-game schedule can be crushing for any rookie and Gaudette may also cede offensive opportunities to veteran Brandon Sutter once the young center emerges from the AHL.
