2019 Fantasy Outlook
Garland split time between the Coyotes and AHL Tucson in 2018-19. At the NHL level, he contributed 13 goals and five helpers in 47 contests, providing surprising scoring depth with a shooting percentage of 11.0. He also added 25 points in 21 games with AHL Tucson. Garland also made an impact on the power play, where he had six of his points for the Coyotes. A natural right wing, Garland may be adversely affected by the Coyotes' acquisition of Phil Kessel. At 5-foot-10, he's not likely to add much physicality, but he's a volume shooter -- the 26-year-old fired 118 pucks on net last year -- and his AHL numbers suggest he could be a fantasy factor with the big club. Missed action due to head injury
RWArizona Coyotes
Head
August 21, 2020
Garland missed Wednesday's series-ending Game 5 loss to the Avalanche due to a head injury, Arizona Coyotes Insider Craig Morgan reports.
ANALYSIS
The Coyotes haven't specified whether Garland was forced to miss Game 5 due to a concussion or some other type of head injury, but either way, he should be fully recovered in time for next season's training camp, which is expected to open in mid-November. The 24-year-old winger, who led Arizona with 22 goals (39 points) in 68 games during the regular season, should skate in a top-six role while seeing ample power-play time in 2020-21.
