Our Daily Drafts on SiriusXM Fantasy continued Monday with an all-time Green Bay Packers draft, and we had Tom Kessenich join us for the festivities. We decided to limit the draft to fantasy players only. Thus we all had to draft one QB, two RBs, two WRs, two Flex players, a TE and a kicker. As it turns out, three quarterbacks is a perfect number for the Packers, as there's a massive drop-off after the big three.
You'd think a storied franchise like the Packers would be loaded at each position, and it's true that WR is super-deep, but surprisingly running back is rather thin. Thus, most of our flex players are receivers.
As our guest, Tom had the first pick and started with Brett Favre, giving Liss, who had the second pick, Aaron Rodgers. I played my usual "wait on the quarterbacks" game and still ended up with Bart Starr. Full results are below, first by pick order, and then by team.
Results by team:
|QB||Brett Favre||Aaron Rodgers||Bart Starr|
|RB||Paul Hornung||Aaron Jones||Ahman Green|
|RB||Tony Canadeo||Dorsey Levens||Jim Taylor|
|WR||James Lofton||Jordy Nelson||Sterling Sharpe|
|WR||Donald Driver||Davante Adams||Don Hutson|
|TE||Mark Chmura||Ron Kramer||Paul Coffman|
|Flex||Greg Jennings||Antonio Freeman||Randall Cobb|
|Flex||Robert Brooks||Javon Walker||Ryan Grant|
|K||Ryan Longwell||Chris Jacke||Mason Crosby|
As a reminder, we're trying to honor greatness, and not necessarily pile up the best fantasy stats. With that in mind, who "won" this draft? Who are the notable omissions?
