Games (EDT)

  • 6:00 p.m: Polar Ace (PA) vs. Mythic (MYTH)
  • 8:00 p.m: Oceanus (OCE) vs. New England Whalers (NEW)

Polar Ace vs. Mythic

Monday's CS:GO slate opens in Mythic Invitational League, with Polar Ace and Mythic facing off in the opening match and the winner moving on to face Chaos in Round 2. The first match also looks to be far and away the most one-sided of the slate, as Mythic look to take a comfortable victory against a poor Polar Ace side. Keiti and zNf will look to provide the firepower for Mythic, who come into the match in good form despite their last two one-sided defeats to Chaos. The veto is likely to end up on Train, Overpass and Inferno, though Polar Ace could pull out a very different veto to try and keep Mythic off-balance. Overall, Mythic are the favorites and look likely to romp through this match, offering excellent value across the board. If Polar Ace want to pull off the upset, they will look towards Magowi, who has shown the potential to keep up with the firepower that Mythic bring to the table.

Prediction: 2-0 Mythic

  • PA Players to Target: Magowi ($11,700 Captain, $7,800 Flex)
  • MYTH Players to Target: zNf ($13,800 Captain, $9,200 Flex), Keiti ($10,800 Captain, $7,200 Flex)

Oceanus vs. New England Whalers

The second match is the closer of the two, with the winner taking on Triumph in the second round, a tall task for any team in North America. New England Whalers

Oceanus vs. New England Whalers

The second match is the closer of the two, with the winner taking on Triumph in the second round, a tall task for any team in North America. New England Whalers come into the match as favorites, and it's hard to argue against them, as they've been hovering around the top of the second tier of North America, pushing Chaos and Triumph in best-of-three's. PwnAlone, in particular, has been strong, as well as ben1337, who joined the side after departing the aforementioned Chaos. Oceanus, on the other hand, are lead by wippie, who has simply been on fire, putting up a 1.30 rating over the last three months while averaging nearly a kill per round in that time. If Oceanus want to pull off the upset it will be on the back of wippie and penny, the duo that are far and away the top performers for the side. The map veto is likely to end up on Mirage, Nuke and Overpass, as both sides look for comfort in the first round of Mythic Invitational League. The value should come from NEW, who are the favorites to take over the series and should be able to overpower Oceanus comfortably barring a stellar performance from wippie.

Prediction: 2-1 New England Whalers

  • OCE Players to Target: wippie ($12,300 Captain, $8,200 Flex)
  • NEW Players to Target: PwnAlone ($12,900 Captain, $8,600 Flex), Rampage ($11,400 Captain, $7,600 Flex)
