Sleepers for IPL 2020

Sleepers for IPL 2020

Indian Premier League (IPL) 2020 edition is set to begin in less than one week and the excitement is rising among cricket lovers all over the planet.

This year's competition will have a different feel as it will not see thousands cheering their respective teams on different venues in India.

The 13th edition of the cash-rich T20 league will be played on three different venues in the United Arab Emirates (UAE), starting on September 19 with the match between defending champion Mumbai Indians and Chennai Super Kings.

Here are five players who might not be the most expensive in the competition but surely possess the ability to produce the goods when it matters the most.

Krunal Pandya (Mumbai Indians)

Mumbai Indians' all-rounder Krunal Pandya might prove to be an excellent acquisition for your fantasy team in this year's IPL. Since the tournament is taking place in the Middle East, there will be more on offer for spin bowlers compared to the traditional batting pitches in the subcontinent. Pandya will not only provide a suitable bowling option in the squad where there are not many notable spinners available but he can also be a useful option with the bat in hand and therefore, selecting him makes a lot of sense.

Shimron Hetmyer (Delhi Capitals)

Young left-handed batsman Shimron Hetmyer is now a renowned face in the world of cricket. The West Indies international is coming in the tournament after playing a reasonable amount of T20 cricket in the Caribbean Premier League

Shimron Hetmyer (Delhi Capitals)

Young left-handed batsman Shimron Hetmyer is now a renowned face in the world of cricket. The West Indies international is coming in the tournament after playing a reasonable amount of T20 cricket in the Caribbean Premier League (CPL) where he played some match-winning knocks with the bat in hand. Therefore, Hetmyer is a tempting option for any fantasy team owner who is keen on having impact players in the playing XI.

Imran Tahir (Chennai Super Kings)

Veteran leg-spinner Imran Tahir is a proven talent in the T20 format. The 41-year-old is expected to play a huge role for Chennai Super Kings in this year's IPL, especially after the withdrawal of Harbhajan Singh who will miss the competition due to personal reasons. Tahir will be coming in the tournament after an impressive outing in the ongoing CPL for Guyana Amazon Warriors, which can prove to be a big advantage for him compared to many other players who will be rusty after months of break due to coronavirus pandemic. That is not it as Tahir also has an experience of playing in the UAE where he represented Multan Sultans in the Pakistan Super League (PSL).

Mohammad Nabi (Sunrises Hyderabad)

Sunrises Hyderabad's all-rounder Mohammad Nabi has become a proven T20 customer over the years. The Afghanistan international has proven to be one of the star performers for St Lucia Zouks during the CPL which makes him an ideal pick for your fantasy team in the IPL 2020. Nabi also has an ample amount of experience of playing in the UAE where Afghanistan used to play their international cricket which makes him an even more valuable asset.

Moeen Ali (Royal Challengers Bangalore)

Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB)'s all-rounder Moeen Ali is the last candidate on this list. The England international is a proven customer at the highest level and will have an added advantage of conditions going in his favour in the UAE. Therefore, someone who is good against spin with the bat and even better as a spinner with the ball in hand makes Ali a tempting proposition for any fantasy team owner in this year's IPL.
