Hosts England will take on Australia in a must-win clash at the iconic Lord's in London on Tuesday. At the beginning of the World Cup, England were tipped to be the favourites to win the World Cup. However, their campaign suffered a major setback after they lost their previous match against Bangladesh. They had lost out to Pakistan previously as well and now need to win at least two out of their remaining three matches to guarantee a semi-final berth for them.
Australia, on the other hand, have been veey professional in this tournament. They have won all their matches barring the one against India and are well placed to qualify for the semi-finals. A victory in this match would only guarantee it. Both of their openers, David Warner and Aaron Finch, have been among the runs and their middle-order consisting of the likes of Usman Khawaja and Steve Smith have been in decent form too. The bowling attack comprising of the likes of Pat Cummins and Mitchell Starc is one of the bets in the tournament and hence, they are well covered in almost all departments.
England also have a good unit but their defeats to Pakistan and Bangladesh were rather surprising and unexpected. All of their batsmen have been in good form and their bowlers have picked up regular wickets too. All they need to do is to shrug the disappointment of defeat behind and come roaring back into this match with a thoroughly professional performance.
