Catches on with JUCO school
Geil announced Feb. 1 via his personal Twitter account that he'll join Independence Community College in Kansas as transfer from Iowa.
ANALYSIS
As a true freshman at Iowa in 2018, Geil ran 15 times for 37 yards, but he was buried on the depth chart last fall and ended up entering the transfer portal last August. Though he never latched on elsewhere last season, Geil should have a clearer path to playing time while heading to the JUCO ranks in 2020. If he shines at Independence, Geil could resurface at the FBS level as soon as 2021, when he would have two years of eligibility remaining.
