Healthy entering fall
July 11, 2020
McClelland (knee) is expected to be back to full health for the start of the 2020 season, Justin Williams of The Athletic reports.
ANALYSIS
After amassing 485 yards (7.7 per carry) and accounting for five touchdowns as a true freshman in 2018, McClelland was expected to be a key member of the Bearcats' backfield rotation in 2019, but he tore his ACL a week before the season started. He took a redshirt as a result, but with his rehab apparently going according to plan, McClelland looks like he'll be back in the fold for 2020. Expect the third-year sophomore to be one of the top complements to Gerrid Doaks, who profiles as the Bearcats' lead option following Michael Warren's departure for the NFL.
