Fresno State coach Jeff Tedford confirmed Tuesday that Mims would be sidelined for the entire 2019 campaign with a foot/ankle injury, Jackson Moore of 247Sports.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Mims' lower-body injury first cropped up last November, preventing the running back from playing in the Bulldogs' final two games. Mims, who accounted for 722 total yards and eight touchdowns in 2018, would have been in line to fill a complementary role behind lead back Ronnie Rivers this fall had the health issue not spoiled those plans. An incoming true junior, Mims will likely take a redshirt in 2019 to preserve two more years of eligibility.
