Nick Weatherspoon

Skipping final year at Mississippi State
GMississippi State
April 12, 2020
Weatherspoon announced Friday that he'll enter the 2020 NBA Draft with the intention of forgoing his final year at Mississippi State, Nick Suss of the Jackson Clarion-Ledger reports.
ANALYSIS
Weatherspoon becomes the third Bulldogs player to enter the draft, though his decision to leave Starkville comes as more of a surprise than either Reggie Perry or Robert Woodard, both of whom have a legitimate shot at getting selected in the first round. Meanwhile, the 6-foot-2 Weatherspoon is projected to go undrafted, but that apparently won't deter him from heading to the professional ranks, as he reportedly plans to keep his name in the draft regardless of the feedback he receives from the NBA's advisory board. The impending departures of Perry, Woodard and Weatherspoon -- who averaged 11.6 points and 4.1 assists in 21 appearances in 2019-20 along with the graduation of Tyson Carter means that Mississippi State will head into the 2020-21 season without any of its top four scorers from the previous season.
