Lakers Close Out Series, Defeat Nuggets In Game 5
The Los Angeles Lakers defeated the Denver Nuggets, 117-107, in Game 5 of the Western Conference Finals on Saturday at Orlando. The Lakers won the series by a 4-1 result and have clinched a spot in the 2020 NBA Finals.

The Lakers knew they only needed one win to move into the NBA Finals and started the game with intensity, jumping out to a 33-30 lead in the first quarter before pulling away to a 61-51 halftime lead. Denver attempted a comeback in the third quarter and reduced the differential to just three points, but the Lakers closed things out for good in the final 12 minutes on route to a 10-point win that puts them in the Finals. The big difference in this game lied on the accuracy from the floor -- the Lakers shot 54.5 percent from the field, while the Nuggets made just 42.2 percent of their shots.

LeBron James came up huge for the Lakers in Game 5 and posted a 38-point, 16-rebound, 10-assist triple-double. Anthony Davis added 27 points with five rebounds and three assists. Alex Caruso and Danny Green both chipped in with 11 points as well. No other Lakers player scored in double digits, but Dwight Howard had nine points and nine rebounds off the bench.

Jerami Grant paced the Nuggets with 20 points and nine rebounds, and he was one of six Denver players to reach the 10-point mark. Nikola Jokic also added 20 points while racking up seven rebounds and five assists to his name. Jamal Murray sniffed a double-double since he posted 19 points with eight assists, and veteran Paul Millsap contributed 13 points. Monte Morris nearly had a double-double with 10 points and seven dimes.
