Raptors Defeat Warriors, 105-92, Take 3-1 Finals Lead
The Toronto Raptors defeated the host Golden State Warriors, 105-92, in Game 4 of the NBA Finals at ORACLE Arena on Friday.
Despite the fact that Golden State led by double-digits early on in this game, Toronto won because of stifling defense. The third quarter was key, with the Raptors outscoring the Warriors, 37-21. That allowed them to lead by at least eight points for the entirety of the fourth quarter. Toronto ended up holding Golden State to 45 percent from the field and 30 percent from three-point range while winning the turnover differential, 17-9. Free-throw shooting was also critical, with the Raptors hitting 23-of-24 and the Warriors connecting on just 14-of-21.
The Raptors (3-1) were led by Kawhi Leonard, who provided 36 points, 12 rebounds, two assists and four steals. Pascal Siakam amassed 19 points and five boards. Kyle Lowry went just 3-for-12 from the field but finished with 10 points, seven assists and three steals. Serge Ibaka was huge off the bench, providing 20 points, four rebounds and two blocks.
The Warriors (1-3) were led by Stephen Curry, as he tallied 27 points, four rebounds and six assists. Klay Thompson totaled 28 points, three rebounds and two assists. Draymond Green accumulated 10 points, nine rebounds, 12 assists and two blocks. Kevon Looney returned from injury to led the bench with 10 points and six rebounds.
