Back in action at South Bend
Moreno (undisclosed) is back in action at Low-A South Bend. He fired four scoreless frames Tuesday, allowing one hit and one walk while striking out four.
ANALYSIS
The 6-foot-3 righty is a legitimate pitching prospect in the lower levels of the Cubs' system, although an undisclosed injury forced him to miss almost two months after making just one start on April 10. He has the polish to post strong numbers in the Midwest League before potentially reaching High-A toward the end of the minor-league season.

2017 Fantasy Outlook
After signing out of Columbia in 2013, Moreno excelled in his first true test as a professional. He dominated Arizona League hitters across 32.1 innings and was even more unhittable after a promotion to the Northwest League. Short-season opponents hit just .150 against him, as he allowed only 22 baserunners while striking out 22 over 30 frames. Moreno's low-90s sinking fastball and plus changeup were enough to give hitters in the lower levels fits, and it would not be surprising if he continued to dominate as he moves to the Midwest League this year. However, as he climbs the ranks, the 6-foot-3 righty will need to develop his curveball into a reliable third offering. That said, he is already way ahead of the curve. He has a mature 6-foot-3, 200-pound frame and more feel for his changeup than most pitchers in the upper levels. Moreno is yet another exciting young arm in the lower levels of a Cubs system that always seems to be replenishing.
