This opens up the door for more playing time for Evans, who was mired in a slump until hitting safely in back-to-back games this week. Evans is hitting just .226 with a .703 OPS in 107 plate appearances this season.

2021 Fantasy Outlook
Evans' season came to a painful end in 2020 when he collided with Gregory Polanco in the field, suffering both a concussion and a broken jaw. Evans had surgery in late August and is on the road to recovery for the 2021 season. Evans has hit for a decent average with some pop the past few years at the minor-league level and has a career slash line of .290/.377/.366 in 106 major-league PA. Any time a third baseman's OBP is higher than his SLG, it's concerning, and Evans has achieved the success he has in his small sample thanks mostly to his ability to put bat to ball. He is not going to win any type of exit velocity awards. He also does not elevate the ball much and Evans is likely to max out as a utility player, even on this team. Perhaps he could start start for a stretch should Polanco's shoulder injury suffered in winter ball delay his 2021 debut.
