ANALYSIS
The 6-foot-4 prep outfielder is one of the best athletes in the entire class, but he's still incredibly raw as a baseball player. He turned down scholarship offers from big-time college football programs to commit to play baseball at Vanderbilt, so he will need to be pried away from the Commodores. Plus-plus speed highlights the package, but he has the frame and bat speed to develop plus power down the road if he can figure out how to hit. There's a chance that his stock could really take off once he's focused solely on baseball, and given his immense upside, he should at least be on the radar of owners in deeper dynasty leagues.

Selected in the third round of the 2016 draft, Jones was viewed as one of the best athletes in the entire draft class. As a two-sport high school athlete, he received scholarship offers from several top football programs but ultimately chose to pursue a professional baseball career. At 6-foot-4, 195 pounds, the young outfielder displays elite speed and the frame to potentially become a power hitter down the road. In his first season with the Marlins Gulf Coast League affiliate, Jones batted .234/.380/.313 in 80 plate appearances. He posted a 25 percent strikeout rate and an impressive 13.8 percent walk rate. At just 19 years old, the Marlins hope their toolsy outfielder can develop into a future MLB star, but a potentially below average hit tool could get in the way of that. His tools make him worth following in dynasty leagues, but the risk is so extreme that he is best left alone in leagues that roster 200 or fewer prospects.
