All signs point towards a duel between two anemic offenses, as both the Rangers and the Mariners sit in the bottom three when it comes to runs produced per game in the American League – both franchises average under 4.0 runs per contest. The Mariners have had a few productive hitters while the Rangers seem to have an edge in the pitching department, so this one could really go either way. Speaking of pitching, the Rangers will send veteran Jordan Lyles and his 7.52 ERA to the mound, while the Mariners will counter with Justus Sheffield, who has been outstanding in his last two outings – going 1-0 with a 0.75 ERA and 10 hits in 12 innings against the Colorado Rockies and the Houston Astros. Sheffield has a 4.12 ERA this season, but he is on the right track.
