Game Preview
It's been a full week since the last CPBL game was played, with a constant stream of rainouts wiping out the entire week's slate. Even if the rain lets up Sunday, it's quite possible that the fields will be in no condition to play, but we'll preview this game anyway in case it's able to go forward. The Lions have changed up their projected starter, going back to Logan Darnell, who had been listed in that spot several times earlier in the week. Darnell has yet to make his CPBL debut after being delayed by the mandatory quarantine for foreigners entering Taiwan. He threw 24 innings for the MLB's Minnesota Twins back in 2014 but has spent the last five seasons in the high minors and the Mexican League. The Monkeys will stick with Saturday's scheduled starter Ryan Carpenter. The American lefty has looked quite good through his first five CPBL starts, posting a 3.55 ERA, though he did allow six runs in seven innings his last time out against the Guardians.

Top Picks
Ryan Carpenter, Monkeys: Logan Darnell could well be a top starter at the CPBL level, but it's awfully risky to start him against the loaded Monkeys lineup without any track record in the league. Carpenter has been very good this season and is a safe option despite being fairly expensive.
Lin Li, Monkeys: As usual, Lin makes for an excellent captain choice. He's filled up the leaderboard this season, ranking second in batting average (.411), second in RBI (27), first in runs (27) and second in steals (nine).
Lin Chih-Ping, Monkeys: Lin has played only a moderate role this season, receiving just 59 plate appearances, but if he keeps hitting the way he's been hitting, his playing time is sure to increase. His batting average sits at .510, far above his .209 average from last season.
Chen Yung-Chi, Lions: Chen makes for a decent captain choice for those predicting an upset in this one. He's hitting .307 with 21 RBI on the season and hits right-handed, unlike most of the Lions' top hitters.
