Plays in scratch match

August 24, 2021
Caldwell (hamstring played in a scratch match on Sunday and will now be available for Sunday's elimination final against the Western Bulldogs.
ANALYSIS
Caldwell hasn't played since Round 2 due to a long-term hamstring injury but returns just in time for the opening game of the finals. With a 22-disposal and nine-mark effort in Round 1, Caldwell certainly has potential to be a high-value pickup if he's fully fit.

May 11, 2021
Caldwell (hamstring) suffered a setback in his recovery and is now out indefinitely, according to GM Josh Mahoney. "Given the position of the strain in his hamstring and the previous injury he sustained earlier in the season, the club will take a conservative approach with his recovery which may involve surgery, and as such we will delay putting a timeframe on his availability."
ANALYSIS
Caldwell was close to returning by the end of May but could now be out a few more months. He topped 100 points in Round 1 against Hawthorn and could be worth monitoring if he's able to return to full strength this season.

22 Disposals, Nine Tackles v. Hawthorn
MEssendon Bombers
March 21, 2021
Caldwell grossed 22 disposals, four marks, nine tackles, three clearances and a single goal assist Saturday as Essendon fell to Hawthorn 92-91 at Marvel Stadium.
ANALYSIS
The former first round pick of the GWS Giants impressed in his first appearance in a Bombers' jersey, recording career-highs for disposals, kicks, handballs, tackles, clearances and goal-assists and finishing one of four Essendon players having topped 100 fantasy points in the contest. Caldwell appears poised to only benefit from an intentional shift to inside midfielder and, alongside a centre bounce roatation that includes Dylan Shiel, Andrew McGrath, Zach Merrett and Darcy Parish, should prove a favorite fantasy option for owners looking to the Essendon roster for support.
