Ellis-Yolmen is no longer hampered by a calf issue and is in contention for a recall to the AFL side this week, Marco Monteverde of NCA NewsWire (via the Cairns Post reports.
ANALYSIS
Ellis-Yolmen hasn't taken part in an AFL match since July 4, when he exited early against Port Adelaide. However, with the Lions losing a stable of players last week, the selection committee may decide it's time for him to rejoin the mix for the Lions.

Ellis-Yolmen (calf) wasn't among the 26 named to the extended squad for Sunday's clash with Melbourne.
ANALYSIS
Ellis-Yolmen was listed as a test for the contest but was expected to require to need another week or two for serious consideration. Thursday's squad announcement confirmed that notion, lining him up with a return either next week versus Essendon or possibly for the short turnaround the following Tuesday against Richmond.

Ellis-Yolmen (calf) will be a test this week but is expected to miss Sunday's match versus Melbourne, Michael Whiting of the AFL's official site reports.
ANALYSIS
Ellis-Yolmen didn't travel for the team's two matches versus Geelong and GWS, but he'll get a thorough evaluation from the staff this week. However, it seems more likely than not that he'll be headed for another Round on the sidelines and aiming for a possible Round 9 return.

July 7, 2020
Ellis-Yolmen (calf) wasn't named in the traveling party for the next two matches against Geelong and GWS Giants, according to High Performance manager Damien Austin. "(Ellis-Yolmen) got a strain, it is only minor so that will probably keep him out for one to two weeks.''
ANALYSIS
Ellis-Yolmen went down early in the win over Port Adelaide and should miss the next couple of matches, especially with travel restrictions in place. Captain Dayne Zorko should help fill the void during the trip.
Suffers calf injury
MBrisbane Lions
Calf
July 4, 2020
Ellis-Yolmen suffered a calf injury and left in the first quarter of Saturday's match against Port Adelaide, according to his coach Chris Fagan. "He injured his calf really early in the game, so I imagine he'll have a scan. I'm pretty sure he wouldn't be right for next week."
ANALYSIS
Ellis-Yolmen didn't last long before being forced off the pitch. He'll hope the injury isn't serious, but it shouldn't cause too many problems for one of the healthier teams in the premiership that has gone top of the ladder with some solid contributions from younger players. With Dayne Zorko (calf) having a chance to return, Ellis-Yolemen's absence could be very little.
