25 disposals, 10 marks v. Power
DBrisbane Lions
May 1, 2021
Birchall procured 25 disposals, 10 marks, two tackles and a single clearance Saturday as Brisbane knocked off Port Adelaide 93-44 at Gabba.
ANALYSIS
Birchall matched a season-high 18 kicks, two tackles and two inside 50s and tied a personal-best mark for rebound 50 (8) in Brisbane's win over the Power. Those numbers lifted the second-year defender to his best fantasy point total of 2021 (106), yet having bested 70 points only three times on the year. No doubt Birchall's 54 total marks to date appeal to fantasy owners. A fantasy point per game average of 76.3 - 41st-best amongst all AFL defenders - leaves something to be desired, however.
Injures hamstring in loss

Hamstring
October 17, 2020
Birchall hurt his hamstring during Saturday's loss to Geelong.
ANALYSIS
Birchall will have plenty of time to recover after his team lost in the preliminary finals. Throughout the season, Birchall wasn't one to provide consistent beyond meager disposal stats.

Rest
August 3, 2020
Birchall is being managed and will not play in Tuesdays game against Richmond.
ANALYSIS
Birchall will be given the night off Tuesday for rest purposes, but it's safe to assume he will be back for the next contest barring word of a larger issue.
Expected to be available for Round Two
DBrisbane Lions
May 30, 2020
Birchall (hamstring) missed the opener but is slated to be available for Round Two versus the Dockers on June 13, Jon Pierik of the Brisbane Times reports.
ANALYSIS
Birchall was historically a major contributor for Hawthorn but has appeared in a combined eight games over the last three seasons. After the latest injury setback, he should make his debut in the back end for Brisbane in Round Two after signing a one-year contract this offseason.
