Out remainder of season w/ ACL
Scans have revealed that Cuningham suffered a ruptured ACL in his left knee in Carlton's 94-68 loss to Melbourne on Sunday and, subsequently, will miss the remainder of the 2021 season, AFL.com reports.
ANALYSIS
The 24 year-old midfielder suffered the injury when he landed awkwardly during a contested mark in the first quarter of Sunday's match. Michael Gibbons was subbed in following Cuningham's exit and finished with nine disposals, four marks, four tackles and a single goal

Takes part in scratch match
Cuningham (hamstring) logged action in a scratch match over the weekend, Marni Olsson-Young of the Blues' official site reports.
ANALYSIS
Cuningham hasn't taken part on the AFL side since July 31 versus Hawthorn, but his action in the scratch match could put him on a path to that versus Collingwood on Sunday. In any event, the hamstring is no longer an issue.

Cunningham will miss Sunday's fixture against the Eagles as he is experiencing some calf tightness.

Cunningham did report some tightness in his hamstring after his Round 9 match and apparently the team's bye in the following week wasn't enough time for him to completely heal. The good news is that Andrew Russell, the team's Director of High Performance, did come out and say that Cunningham has a low-grade calf injury that he should most likely only miss one game, however, the absence should not surpass more than two.

Cuningham produced 28 disposals (15 kicks, 13 handballs), eight marks, one tackle and two behinds in Saturday's 52-51 victory over Essendon.

The Carlton midfield were fantastic in the victory, helping erase a 12 point deficit midway through the final quarter. He may have had a claim to best-on-ground honors has it not been for Sam Docherty and his 32 disposals. Carlton are certainly a team on the rise and while they are unlikely to challenge for the premiership this season, their progress is evident.
