Five goals in win over Adelaide
FWest Coast Eagles
May 17, 2021
Darling totaled 15 disposals, eight marks, five goals, two behinds and a single tackle Sunday as West Coast downed Adelaide 106-76 at Optus Stadium.
ANALYSIS
An astonishing five goal second quarter matched a season-high for majors originally set back on April 16 and finds Darling currently averaging 2.89 majors an appearance in 2021, sixth-best in the AFL. The 28 year-old also registered multiple behinds and a minimum of eight marks for a fourth-consecutive outing on Sunday. The West Coast forward has now catalogued his top three fantasy performances of the year in the month of May alone and enters Round 10 looking to buttress a score per game average ranked 17th-best amongst all players at his position.

Three goals, two behinds v. Dockers
FWest Coast Eagles
May 2, 2021
Darling totaled 17 disposals, nine marks, five tackles, three goals, two behinds and a single goal assist Sunday as West Coast knocked off Fremantle 132-73 at Optus Stadium.
ANALYSIS
Darling matched teammates Josh Kennedy with a game-high three goals and five others as the leader in behinds in Saturday's contest. His mark total also trailed only the Eagles' Josh Rotham and matched a season-best. West Coast's No. 1 for majors, Darling continues to play a key role in an offense that currently ranks fourth-best in the AFL in points per game. As a fantasy option, however, owners can currently find better alternatives at forward, with the 28 year-old averaging a passable 82.1 points an appearance.
Decent in loss
FWest Coast Eagles
April 24, 2021
Darling scored one goal and two behinds to go with eight marks made during Saturday's 136-39 loss to Geelong.
ANALYSIS
Darling scored his fewest goals of any match this season and it fits the bill during a dominant performance by the Cats. Since he was still able to put up decent numbers, it could be a sign that Darling's value will hold steady in a reliable spot for forwards as long as his price isn't too high.
Productive night Saturday
FWest Coast Eagles
August 3, 2020
Darling totaled 11 disposals (eight kicks, three handballs), three marks, two tackles, two goals and one behind in Saturday's 73-64 victory over Geelong.
ANALYSIS
Darling's form continues to progress and in what is certainly no coincidence, so does the Eagles' success rate. He began the season very slowly but has looked more like himself over the past month. The forward often plays second or even third fiddle, a role that suits him perfectly. Unfortunately, that also results in mediocre fantasy production and he is not a player you should be making a prime target.
Improved effort in win
FWest Coast Eagles
July 11, 2020
Darling finished with 10 disposals (five kicks, five handballs), three marks, two goals and one behind in Saturday's 67-34 victory over Adelaide.
ANALYSIS
Darling is certainly far from his best but did appear to turn things around Saturday. In fact, his numbers were up across the board and perhaps he can build off this performance as the Eagles look to string a few wins together.
Woes continue in loss
FWest Coast Eagles
June 20, 2020
Darling managed just seven disposals (three kicks, four handballs), three tackles, three marks and one goal in Saturday's 74-44 loss to Brisbane.
ANALYSIS
Darling turned in another dud Saturday as the Eagles fell to an impressive Lions outfit. Both he and Josh Kennedy are yet to find any sort of momentum this season leaving the Eagles languishing near the bottom of the table. Things will only get harder for Darling and the Eagles as they now prepare to face Port Adelaide, a team that certainly appears to be clicking at this early stage of the season.
